Who we are

QRKong is a free QR code generator. The data controller is QRKong (contact: hi@qrkong.com).

What we collect

Analytics — if you accept analytics cookies, we use PostHog (EU servers) to record page views, button clicks, and session replays. This helps us understand how people use the tool. PostHog data is stored in the EU and governed by PostHog's privacy policy. You can withdraw consent at any time via the cookie settings link in the footer.

Newsletter — if you subscribe to our mailing list, we store your email address with Resend. We use it only to send QRKong updates. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email.

Edge logs — our hosting provider, Cloudflare, automatically logs standard request data (IP address, user agent, country, timestamp) as part of delivering the site. We do not control this logging. Cloudflare's data retention and privacy practices are governed by Cloudflare's privacy policy.

What we do not collect

The content you encode into QR codes — URLs, text, contact details, Wi-Fi credentials, and anything else — is processed entirely inside your browser and is never transmitted to our servers. We have no access to it.

• Analytics: your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a))
• Newsletter: your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a))
• Cloudflare edge logs: legitimate interest in delivering a functional and secure service (GDPR Article 6(1)(f))

Cookies

We use a strictly necessary cookie to remember your cookie preferences. If you accept analytics, PostHog may set additional cookies or use localStorage to identify your session. No advertising or tracking cookies are used.

You can review and change your choices at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer.

How long we keep data

• Analytics: PostHog retains event data for 1 year by default.
• Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
• Edge logs: per Cloudflare's standard retention policy.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law you have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, email hi@qrkong.com. We will respond within 30 days.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page will always reflect the most recent revision. We will not retroactively reduce your rights without notice.
