How to create a WiFi QR code

  1. Select "Wi-Fi" in QRKong.
  2. Enter your network name (SSID), password, and security type.
  3. Download the PNG — your password never leaves your browser.
  4. Print and display where guests can easily scan it.

Common questions

The password is encoded in the QR image itself. QRKong generates the code entirely in your browser — nothing is sent to a server.

Anyone who can photograph the printed code can read the password, so treat it like any printed credential: don't post it publicly if the network is sensitive.

Most home and business routers use WPA2. Check your router settings page (usually at 192.168.1.1) if you are unsure — it is listed under Wireless Security.

If your network has no password, choose "None". WEP is outdated but included for legacy hardware.

Yes. iOS 11 and later can scan a WiFi QR code with the built-in Camera app and prompt the user to join. No third-party app needed.

Android 10 and later support the same feature natively.

The password is baked into the QR pattern. If you change the password, generate a new QR code and reprint or replace the displayed one.

Yes — the Wi-Fi QR code format includes a flag for hidden networks. Enter your SSID and password in QRKong, and the encoded data will indicate to the device that the network is not broadcasting.
