For Instagram.
Instagram's own QR is fine for a story sticker but lousy on a business card — fixed colours, baked-in logo, raster only. Make a QR that opens your profile, in your colours, with your wordmark in the middle. Download it and put it everywhere.

Business Cards
Replace the "@ourhandle" line nobody types. A scan opens your feed.
Product Packaging
On a label, on a hangtag, on the inside of the lid. Convert buyers into followers without an extra step.
Event Banners & Signage
Pop-up, market stall, conference booth: the QR earns you a follow without anyone reaching for a phone keyboard.
Restaurant Menus & Receipts
"Tag us with #ourplace" works ten times better with a scannable handle right next to it.
How to make an Instagram bio QR code
- Copy your full profile URL —
instagram.com/yourhandle. Don't use the @ form. - Paste it into QRKong. Pick colours that match your feed aesthetic, not Instagram's default purple-orange.
- Drop your logo or wordmark into the centre. Use level H error correction so the logo doesn't break the scan.
- Download the PNG and drop it into your business card, story sticker, or shipping insert.
Common questions
Instagram's built-in code (Profile → menu → QR Code) uses a fixed purple-orange gradient and only exports as a PNG. You can't change the colours, swap the centre logo, or download a vector.
A QR generated here points to the same instagram.com/your-handle URL but lets you brand it however you want — custom colours, your logo, your aesthetic.
Use the full URL, not just the handle: instagram.com/yourhandle. Some QR readers will not recognise @yourhandle or a bare username as a link.
If you want the code to open inside the Instagram app on a phone (instead of the mobile browser), that already happens automatically once Instagram is installed — the OS deep-links it.
Yes. Open the post or Reel, copy its share link, and encode that URL. The QR scan opens that exact post.
For posts that may change (a sale, a launch reel), make a fresh QR pointing to the new post — it takes under a minute.
Instagram's public profile URL has been stable for over a decade. The risk of /yourhandle disappearing is very low.
For a flyer or business card you read at arm's length, 2.5–3 cm (1–1.2 inch) scans reliably. For a poster behind glass, scale up to 5–8 cm.
Add a one-line caption like "Follow @yourhandle" beneath the code — bare codes scan 40–60% less than ones with a clear CTA.
