No. QRKong encodes a URL — you provide the link to a video hosted elsewhere. YouTube, Vimeo, and direct file URLs on your own server all work.
If you use a standard youtube.com or vimeo.com URL and those apps are installed, the phone will typically open the video in the app. Direct file URLs (e.g. example.com/video.mp4) open in the browser player.
For the smoothest experience on mobile, use the platform share link rather than a raw file URL.
Upload to YouTube or Vimeo and use the standard page URL. This gives you player controls, captions, quality switching, and analytics — things a raw file link cannot provide.
If you need the video to play without branding, Vimeo's privacy settings let you control what appears around the player.
Not for browser-hosted videos. A direct MP4 link will play in Safari on iOS and Chrome on Android without any app. YouTube and Vimeo URLs open in the app if it is installed, and fall back to the browser if not.
